Tooth-Colored Fillings

Using gentle, effective techniques and the most advanced technology available, our experienced pediatric dentists and highly trained team provide world-class dental care in a warm, fun, welcoming setting. Our pediatric dentists use strong, natural-looking, tooth-colored composite material (tooth-colored fillings) to restore small and moderate size cavities, repair damaged (fractured) teeth, improve the appearance of tooth imperfections, and alter tooth size and shape. Composite material is mercury-free, durable, and aesthetic, providing beautiful, long-lasting results.

Dental Crowns

When a tooth becomes badly damaged due to extensive decay or trauma, it may need to be restored with a custom dental crown. To provide our patients with a variety of options for restoring damaged teeth, we offer both mercury-free metal crowns (traditionally used for back teeth) and cosmetic tooth-colored crowns. Natural-looking, tooth-colored crowns are shade-matched to provide aesthetic benefits while also offering the same strength and durability as metal crowns. Crowns that are placed on front teeth are always tooth colored. Cosmetic crowns not only keep the smile white and beautiful, they also protect the treated teeth from further damage and help maintain a properly aligned bite.

Teeth Whitening

Dental stains and tooth discoloration can have a variety of causes, and at Ashburn Children’s Dentistry we offer treatments that can help your child achieve a brighter, whiter smile. Whether he or she is struggling with a single discolored tooth or general yellowing of the entire smile, our dentists can provide an effective solution. For suitable candidates we offer in-office whitening and consistently get amazing results! We also perform other cosmetic treatments that can address deeper staining and discoloration that cannot be adequately resolved with bleaching techniques, such as cosmetic bonding and dental veneers. Please ask about our whitening treatments and other cosmetic options at your next appointment.

Lumineers®

We are pleased to offer our patients conservative, natural-looking Lumineers as an alternative to traditional porcelain veneers. Lumineers provide an easy way to conceal stains, chips, discoloration, and misaligned teeth by covering the natural teeth with a thin layer of tooth-colored material. They are also a great way to improve multiple aesthetic aspects of the smile without the need for treatments that young patients might find uncomfortable or traumatic.

You may be familiar with the conventional process of applying veneers, which involves shaving away a significant portion of the tooth and requires an anesthetic shot to numb the resulting pain. Also, in many cases, temporary veneers must be worn while the permanent veneers are manufactured in a lab. Because we use Lumineers at our practice we are able to forgo these uncomfortable steps in the veneers process. Lumineers are as thin as a contact lens and their application requires little to no tooth reduction, and often no anesthetic is necessary to complete the procedure comfortably. Lumineers are bonded to the front side of the appropriate teeth and set in place with a curing light. Because the process is less invasive than treatment with traditional veneers, patients who receive Lumineers are able to immediately enjoy their new smiles, often without any post-procedure discomfort or sensitivity.

Cerinate®, the company that manufactures Lumineers, also provides a warranty on their veneers to help protect your investment. Furthermore, clinical trials show that Lumineers can last up to 20 years.

If your child’s smile is affected by cosmetic imperfections that prevent them from smiling confidently, we encourage you to ask our dentists about personalized treatment with Lumineers.

Snap-On Smile®

Snap-On Smile® is a custom-designed dental device that provides a viable cosmetic and/or restorative option for many of our young patients. Our dentists often recommend Snap-On Smile for patients who are dental phobic or born with missing teeth, as well as those who desire temporary restoration during the transition from primary to permanent teeth. Snap-On Smiles are particularly popular among young actors, actresses, and models! They can even be used to preview extensive dental treatment before making a final commitment to undergo procedures.

At Ashburn Children’s Dentistry, your child’s most beautiful smile is within reach! Let our experienced dentists help your child achieve a lifetime of gorgeous smiles using comfortable, state of the art techniques. To get started, please contact our practice to schedule a discovery session.
