We Love To See Kidz Smile And Have Fun At The Dentist!
The Scary Statistics
It is important to see the dentist for regular cleanings and check-ups to keep the teeth and gums healthy. But what happens when going to the dentist is too scary? An estimated 20 percent of Americans go to the dentist ONLY when absolutely necessary due to dental fear, even when they are living with pain. We want your kids to love going to the dentist so they may enjoy a lifetime of healthy smiles—and that is why we offer sedation dentistry.
We Do Whatever it Takes to Put Your Kids at Ease
Our pediatric dentists want your children to be as comfortable as possible during their appointment, so we provide a kid-friendly environment by offering cozy pillows and blankets to cuddle with, and movies during treatment. For our more anxious patients, we offer a wide variety of sedation options to help them relax, including:
- Local Anesthetic: Procedures are pain-free with a quick numbing injection. Anesthetics are often not needed when receiving treatment with minimally-invasive laser technology.
- Nitrous Oxide: “Laughing gas” is inhaled through a mask and has a calming effect to help your child relax throughout their appointment.
- IV Sedation: IV sedation is ideal for children who need extensive treatment, exhibit lack of cooperation due to young age, or have special healthcare needs. A board-certified M.D. anesthesiologist provides closely monitored IV sedation. Your child will be asleep for treatment and will not remember the procedure.
For children who need to be treated in a hospital setting or who have an extensive health history that prevents them from receiving IV sedation, we offer a special service. In these cases, we coordinate care with the hospital staff and treatment is usually completed as a one-day outpatient procedure.
