Trusted Experience & Education
I find my career as rewarding today as I did when I began practicing over 18 years ago. As a board-certified pediatric dentist, I received extra training focused specifically on the treatment of young and developing smiles. I studied child psychology and even how to treat children with special needs. All the study and effort is worth it every time I see a child's smile and know I've done something to ensure it stays healthy and beautiful.
Fulfilling a Lifelong Dream
I've known since I was about 8 years old that I wanted to be a kids' dentist. When my mother brought my younger brother and me to a dentist at 6 a.m., she had too many patients for us to be seen. The next day, we arrived at 4 a.m. and I knew then and there that I wanted to provide this kind of care without making patients wait for it. All these years later, I'm still as passionate about providing excellent care that makes every child feel precious. My goal is for Ashburn Children's Dentistry to be a place for people to come and feel wonderful - a place where we create great childhood memories.
Providing the Latest Treatments
There are so many advanced techniques and equipment that makes dentistry much more comfortable and effective than when I was a kid. Whenever we're able to make treatments faster or more comfortable, it makes our young patients less afraid. They're more likely to do well with treatment and to carry good dental habits forward into adulthood. That makes me happy, both as a dentist and as a mom.

Delivering excellent dentistry for every child
Dentistry is a rewarding field. Being able to protect and provide good oral health and healthy, confident smiles is very satisfying. But when doing this for children, the rewards are magnified ten-fold. The best thing in the world is getting a hug from a child after working on their smile. I just love being able to take apprehensive, or downright fearful kids and earn their trust and make them comfortable with me and with their dental care. Kids are wonderful, and I'm excited to come to work each day and do something for them that benefits their health, their confidence and their lives. Nothing could be better.

Do what you love, and love what you do
A twinkle in children's eyes when they are able to have a pleasant and comfortable dental checkup (they are often surprised) - the sense of accomplishment and confidence evident on their face as they give me a hug or a high five at the end of their dental visit is priceless! This is possible only by use of gentle behavior guidance. I get to work with the most tender of the patients, many of whom really need specialized help. No matter what the dental needs of a child are, they can be accomplished with kindness, patience and dedication. Before the end of every appointment, I like to ensure that I have answered any questions that children or parents may have. Quality dental care coupled with prevention and effective patient education is the recipe for a lifetime of happy, healthy and beautiful smiles.

Providing heartfelt care and loving every minute of it
Working with children energizes me, and I can't imagine anything more rewarding. Each child has a unique style and personality, which is refreshing and exciting; it motivates me to provide top-notch dental care. For me, that starts with developing a rapport with the child and the parents and earning their trust. From singing songs to teaching kids how to avoid "sugarbugs", a visit to the dentist is always fun for them and for me! My priorities as a pediatric dentist are to make their concerns my own, to help the child overcome the anxiety and apprehension of going to the dentist and to provide the best possible dental care for each individual. Ultimately, my main goal is to provide a memorable experience for every patient, every time they visit our office.
