Dr. Lynda Dean-Duru
Trusted Experience & EducationI find my career as rewarding today as I did when I began practicing over 18 years ago. As a board-certified pediatric dentist, I received extra training focused specifically on the treatment of young and developing smiles. I studied child psychology and even how to treat children with special needs. All the study and effort is worth it every time I see a child’s smile and know I’ve done something to ensure it stays healthy and beautiful. Fulfilling a Lifelong Dream I’ve known since I was about 8 years old that I wanted to be a kids' dentist. When my mother brought my younger brother and me to a dentist at 6 a.m., she had too many patients for us to be seen. The next day, we arrived at 4 a.m. and I knew then and there that I wanted to provide this kind of care without making patients wait for it. All these years later, I’m still as passionate about providing excellent care that makes every child feel precious. My goal is for Ashburn Children’s Dentistry to be a place for people to come and feel wonderful – a place where we create great childhood memories. Providing the Latest Treatments There are so many advanced techniques and equipment that makes dentistry much more comfortable and effective than when I was a kid. Whenever we’re able to make treatments faster or more comfortable, it makes our young patients less afraid. They’re more likely to do well with treatment and to carry good dental habits forward into adulthood. That makes me happy, both as a dentist and as a mom.
